MediaMap aims at promoting new collaborative audiovisual production services using the network as a federative channel. The project deals with new concepts using semantics and ontology elements adapted to the audiovisual world in order to create a high level contextual search engine accessible using a web portal. This places the amateur user and creator of AV content as a new actor of the web TV life providing him with new tools to enhance the level of his production.

The workshop will take place on October 15, 2010 afternoon from 2:00pm in the ‘Atria 3′ room.

Distributed Multimedia Content will be plentiful all over the Future Internet. This NEM track will address innovative User-Centric Content technologies and services. The community is facing several challenges to enhance multimedia content generation, mining and presentation technologies toward intuitive user content consumption in real time. Resource heterogeneity related to diversity of connected devices, information sources, infrastructures, users’ communities, context and mobility are bottlenecks that need to be addressed since they impact the way content is coded, delivered, and shared in the Future Media Internet.

The quality of experience and usability of services are crucial issues that strongly impact the success of new services and new content. Immersive and smart user interfaces together with the ability to offer content to users taking their context into account will be critical factors for the success of Future Media Internet Services. In this NEM track, enabling factors for the deployment of such technologies and innovative services will be addressed.

In particular, this workshop will target advanced implementations and experiences toward applying research results to real-life situations, in any of the following example areas or in other application domains where content management and mining are important: Government, Health, Smart and Assisted Living, …
Topics covered with this workshop will include (but are not limited to):

Cap Digital is the French business cluster for digital content and services in Paris and the Ile de France region. We are a non-profit organization. Our 600 members are primarily innovative SMEs but also count major universities, higher education establishments, research labs, and corporations.

Our members represent the digital industry’s most active players in digital content. Nine vibrant member communities make a vital contribution to the strategy and direction of the cluster: Image, Sound and Interactivity, Video Games, Knowledge Engineering, Culture, Press, and Media, e-Learning and e-Training, Collaborative Technology & Intelligence, Mobile Lifestyle & Services, Robotics and Communicating Objects, and Digital Design.

Cap Digital provides members with essential information, networks, and resources. These include ongoing competitive intelligence, training, partnerships, funding solutions, and project reviews. Partnerships with other leading European clusters, at a structural and project level, are an essential element of Cap Digital’s strategic activities.
