Event Overview
Event Concept and topics
The NEM Summit is an annual Conference and Exhibition annually organised by the NEM Initiative under the aegis of the European Commission (DG Information Society and Media).
The event, both for the conference and exhibition parts, addresses ICT at large and more precisely topics related to networked and electronic media derived from the 7th NEM Strategic Research Agenda updated in September 2009:
- Media-related applications and business models
- Content creation
- Networking and delivery infrastructure
- Content search and media presentation
- Technology drivers and enabling technologies
Those topics will be addressed at the 2010 NEM Summit through four focused workshops:
- New content services
- User centric content
- Content delivery
- Green NEM
Leaders for each workshop, as well as a detailed list of topics and the related call for papers will be unveiled in early April. Stay tuned for more information.
In addition to the conference, the 2010 NEM Summit will also include – over a 1500 m2 exhibition area – showcases and demonstrations of research results from key players in the field of networked electronic media and ICT at large. To get involved as a sponsor or an exhibitor, visit the sponsorship opportunities or contact us. To be noted that a Call for Exhibition is conducted towards collaborative research projects.
Event Structure
The 2010 NEM Summit will include plenary sessions and parallel workshops addressing the above-mentioned topics. Ample time will be devoted to networking opportunities and the exhibition. Coffee breaks, lunches, as well as the networking cocktail will be served in the exhibition area.
